Public summery
We have received confirmation that IM, KTH and Weda now are official beneficiary of the Echord consortium. We therefore decided to restart the development work. The work has been paused for more than 2 months and therefore we will extend the time schedule until the end of August. The most urgent work now is to finalize the system design. However, before that we have to define the positioning and navigation system.

Public Summary Month 6/2012
The last period we have worked with the system solution and have now a first draft ready. That means we have all deliverables scheduled up to now ready for release. However, due to administrative problems at the Echord team to get us and our partners incorporated into the consortium agreement, we have decide to almost stop all activities in the project and not release any deliverables until the administrative problems have been solved.

Public Summary Month 5/2012
This is the third public summary of the MUCE experiment.
During this period we have mainly worked to find a solution for the navigation and positioning problem. We started to do a number of different experiments in real pool environments to understand the physical opportunities and limitations. As a result of this tests and brain storming meetings we could put up a list with 9 possible technical solutions. By evaluating these ideas with respect to a number of critical criteria we were able to rank them. We have now started to verify the three top-ranked solutions that the ideas are possible to implement into real commercial solutions. To be able to perform tests we have made a first mechanical platform. We have also started to look at ways to navigate in the pool for coverage.

Public Summary Month 2/2012
This is the second summary of the MUCE experiment with goal to find robust, efficient and cost effective robot solutions to clean large and complex swimming pools.
During this period we continued to work with the specification documents and started on the design task. Last month we finalized the specification task and all its related documents.
With the specification task completed the focus shifted to the design task. Where we are currently working on the localization and mechanical solutions with the software and electrical solutions soon to be started.

Public Summary Month 1/2012
This is the first summary of the MUCE experiment and the main goal with this project is to find a robust, efficient and cost effective robot solution that manage to clean large and complex swimming pools.
The project is divided in 4 tasks, Specification, Design, Implementation and Evaluation. We have now work 2 of 3 months of the first task and created a number of specification documents that will be our base for the remaining research and development work.
After we finalized the last specification, the Product Requirement Specification, we will switch the focus of the work over to system design and to find one or several solutions for under water navigation and positioning that suite our application
