Prof. Dr. Francisco J. Perales Expertise in the area of computer graphics and computer vision, obtained his BS and MS in computer science at Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB) in 1986. Also obtained in 1993 a Master of Digital Image Processing at UAB. Finally was received the PhD degree in Computer Science at the University of Balearic Islands in 1993. He is currently a professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of (UIB) and is the actual Coordinator of the Computer Graphics and Vision Group. He got his thesis titled "Human Motion Analysis & Syntehis using digital images processing" (UAB). Since then, his main areas of work are the analysis, synthesis and understanding human movements and deformable objects modelling, virtual & augmented reality systems. He is the leader of the project on Human Motion Analysis founded by the Spanish government (TIC2001-0931 & TIC98-0302, TIC98-0302, PARV-UIB). Also, is the Scientist in Charge at UIB of the HUMODAN 2001-32202 European Project. About teaching, he teaches computer graphics & vision courses and PhD courses in Science Engineering at UIB. He is member of ACM-SIGGRAPH, IEEE, IAPR and EUROGRAPHICS. Also is the General Co-Chair of AMDO (Articulated Motion and Deformable Objects) international workshop that is pusblished by Springer-Verlag every two years.About teaching, he teach computer graphics course, computer vision course and PhD courses in Science Engineering of UIB. He is member of ACM-SIGGRAPH, IEEE, and EUROGRAPHICS. Also is Reviewer from many international journals and invited editor of ELCVIA newletter.
